Richard B. Devereux, M.D. is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Cornell University Medical College. He serves as director of the Adult Echocardiography Laboratory at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he is also an attending physician. He is a consultant at Rockefeller University Hospital as well as the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Prior to his current appointments, Dr. Devereux was an assistant instructor in medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and served as a major in the United States Army Medical Corps in Heidelberg, Germany. He received his M.D. from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and his B.A. from Yale University and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians and the Council on Geriatric Cardiology. In March 2005 Dr. Devereux was Co-Chair of the American College of Cardiology's 54th Annual Scientific Session in Orlando.

Dr. Devereux has authored over 450 peer-reviewed articles, published and in press and has received continuous NIH funding since 1979. He is recognized as a leader in research in the field of cardiovascular disease.
